Information for Drivers in Funeral Processions

You, the driver, are solely responsible for the safety of yourself and the passengers in your car.

A funeral procession does NOT have right-of-way at traffic intersections.

Do not go through red lights unless you are specifically directed to and unless you judge the situation to be safe! Other drivers are not required to yield to a funeral procession.

Obey all traffic signals!

Drive with your low beam headlights on.

Without disregarding safety stay close to the car in front of you so that other cars don’t break into our procession.

Drive Defensively...Avoid accidents!

The funeral director will continue to drive slowly and will usually drive in the right lane...so you can keep up or catch up.

All drivers will pay their own tolls. If you need to use a different toll lane than the car ahead of you, be careful when you rejoin the funeral procession.
