New Eyes for the Needy
The eyeglasses of your relative or friend will be sent to "New Eyes for the Needy, Inc." in Short Hills, New Jersey.
"New Eyes" is a non-profit, non-sectarian volunteer organization whose purpose is to help provide better vision for the poor people of the world.
"New Eyes" is endorsed by the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness, Fight for Sight, Inc. and the American Academy of Opthalmology and Otolaryngology.
"New Eyes" never solicits money. It derives its income from the refinement and resale of items which are useless to the donor. It requests metal frames in any condition, unbroken plastic frames with single vision lenses, sunglasses, brown artificial eyes, hearing aids and precious metal scraps such as old watches, jewelry and damaged silverware.
Over eleven million people have been helped by "New Eyes". There are distribution points in over 35 states. Upon specific requests, reusable glasses have been shipped to such areas of the free world as India, Africa, South America, the Philippines, Arabia and Labrador.
Processing is carefully done by volunteers who work the year 'round. Metal framed glasses and metal scrap are sold to a refinery and the redeemed cash is used to purchase new prescription glasses and artificial eyes for the needy in the United States. The reusable plastic framed glasses are tested, classified, and sent abroad to medical missions and welfare agencies for redistribution.
If you have any old glasses or unusable jewelry or silver at home, we will be glad to include them in our next shipment to "New Eyes for the Needy".
On behalf of someone who can see better because of your generosity, we say...
THANK YOU.New Eyes for The Needy
