Music at the Funeral Home

Music is an important part of our lives and all ceremonies in our lives. Music at a funeral is not only acceptable, it is helpful both spiritually and psychologically. Unless the funeral home is instructed otherwise, we will provide a quiet background of light classical orchestra music.

Alternative background music includes:

Secular Music on Carrilon Bells;
Secular Guitar and Organ;
Secular Organ;
Religious Pipe Organ;
Religious Organ.
Contemporary Religious Music played by an Orchestra; Contemporary Religious Music on Piano and Organ;
Organ and Chime;

In addition to the background music, we have available more than 120 individual tapes of selections suitable to be played just prior to the service. We suggest a maximum of three (3) selections in addition to the background music. Although some additions and deletions may have been made to the available tapes, the majority of the selections listed below are available. Each title is keyed with the type of recording, (e.g. Organ or Vocal or Special) and it’s ID number. We will appreciate notification of the music that you select several hours before the funeral ceremony, preferrably at the time the calling hours start. If you have any question regarding the background music or these individual tapes, please call the funeral home now.

Please note that these tapes have been recorded and produced by a funeral oriented music company. The vocals are all sung by Merrill Womach, a tenor...the “popular” titles have all been re-recorded and although they contain the same words, they are not the “familiar” recordings that you may be familiar with. Please ask to hear these special recordings prior to the funeral ceremony.

The music system that we use is propriatary in that it will only play tapes designed for use on it by the manufacturer. We can't play cassette tapes or CDs. If you want music, other than what is listed above, you may arrange to bring your own music and player to the funeral home.
