Funeral Ceremony Times - SchedulingIt is the policy of this funeral home to recommend against funeral ceremonies scheduled at our facility during evening hours. The specific reasons that we cite regarding this recommendation are as follows:
Calling Hours Seating change-over to Ceremony Seating is restricted.
Conflict with other families using the funeral home for their scheduled calling hours.
Limited Seating - Noise interruptions.
Additional charge by the funeral home for evening ceremonies - $100.00.
Misinformation and conflicting information - The public is not used to evening ceremonies and often dont anticipate dealing with the formality of a ceremony.
Calling Hours time is limited.
Confusion regarding the final disposition (the next day) is more probable.
Usually a family ~ friends gathering for refreshments is precluded.
Conversely we recommend that funeral ceremonies be scheduled for the morning, preferrably on the hour, e.g. 11:00 or 10:00 based primarily on:
Family preference.
Clergy preference.
Cemetery requirement or travel time necessary to reach a distant cemetery. Afternoon ceremonies may conflict with another familys use of the funeral home.
...or in the early afternoon, no later than 2:00 pm. because:
Cemeteries usually close for burials after 2:30 or 3:00
Many cemeteries close during the lunch period, often between noon and 1:00 pm. Afternoon ceremonies may conflict with another familys use of the funeral home.Although we dont grant exclusive use of the funeral home facilities, we will not schedule calling hours that conflict with a previously scheduled funeral ceremony. We may schedule calling hours for two families at the same time, if we feel that the overall circumstances make it necessary.
