Price Comparisons

Price comparisons are never easy because the authors of the douments being compared usually NEVER include the same items (services and merchandise). You may might be comparing one fruit to another fruit, but it's often apples to oranges.

Even under the best of circumstances, to try to compare the prices of an individual funeral home to the results of a broad survey is sometimes even harder (you may be looking only at what appears to be red apples but end up actually biting into a Winesap and comparing it to a Mcintosh). We are not aware of any other funeral home web site that currently quotes full sample funeral prices online.

You must always use your best reasoning skills along with as much explanatory information that you can gather to make a truly knowledgable comparison.

Examine VERY CAREFULLY what is specifically included and what is not mentioned and therefore not included...especially note the bottom-line of the quotation because intermediary items may vary up and down by the line, i.e. one source may charge higher for item #3 than the compared item and lower for item #5 than it's matched item...the bottom-line often tells the true tale.T

This page was built several years ago when the New Jersey State Funeral Directors concurrently published its survey of many other funeral home prices. Recently (June 2008) the NJSFDA took those pages off the internet so the links from this page to specific pages on their site were broken.

The NJSFDA Survey does not recognize the availability of a Rental Casket but rather assumes that you will purchase a more expensive casket if you don't want the "good" one. We charge $642.00 for the rental of a casket that is sold for $2440.00. You make the comparison of value.
