Dr. AUDREY ANN ENRIGHT-STANLEY, Ed.D, born Nov. 9, 1930 in Brooklyn, N.Y., of OCEAN GROVE, completed her earthly journey Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. A graduate of Fordham and New York Universities, New York was always her beloved "home," but she loved her life at the Jersey Shore almost as much as the people here cherished her. Audrey was devout in her love of Jesus and served as a nun and Mother Superior. She later left the convent and successfully completed her doctorate after which she served special needs children in Harlem. The public sector benefited from her genius when she joined Equitable Life Assurance Society in New York and Prudential in Chicago. At the age of 67, she energetically and enthusiastically embarked on yet another career of service as a PCA and Telemetry Technician at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where she excelled and worked until her unexpected illness in November 2007. Despite her numerous accomplishments, brilliant mind and generous spirit, Audrey remained a humble soul who appreciated nature, animals and wanted only to serve and help others. Every year in lieu of birthday gifts, she requested food donations for Mercy Center, which she personally delivered. By her simple acts of kindness, she made us all better people just for knowing her. Anyone who met Audrey immediately felt she touched their lives inexplicably and indelibly. Audrey dearly loved and married the late Eddie Stanley and was predeceased by her beloved babies and parents, Edna and Jim Enright. At her request, burial was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Mercy Center, 1106 Main St., Asbury Park, NJ 07712, would be appreciated.
